Organization Description:
Avalon Music Academy has been providing high quality private and group music instruction in the Hamilton area for the past 21 years. We are looking for enthusiastic new instrumental music instructors to add to our team in 2022, on an as-needed basis.
Job Description:
Our music instructors primarily teach private one-on-one lessons with students in half hour time blocks. The instructor plans and prepares lessons according to their experience and expertise, with the option of help from administration in troubleshooting different issues that may arise. We pride ourselves on the many walks of life our staff and students come from, and that there is room for everyone’s learning and teaching style.
This position is specifically for in-person lessons in the Ancaster area, though we also provide online lessons, and will be reopening our Dundas location for physical lessons shortly. If you are interested in any of these options please indicate this in your application.
Requirements:
Documented experience on one or more instruments, multi-instrumentalists are very much encouraged to apply!
Willingness to work with a wide variety of ages and skill levels
Basic document maintenance skills for attendance sheets
Comfort with providing a high level of customer service to students and families
Willingness to work evenings
Experience with children a plus
Please note this is a contract position, the sub-contractor will be responsible for providing their own instrument to demonstrate on (with the exception of piano and drums), while students bring their own to learn with.
